Admission Requirements

Clear entry criteria for every level of study at GIMBS — Certificate through Doctoral programmes.

Certificate and Diploma Programmes

  • High school diploma or equivalent (WAEC / NECO / NABTEB) or advanced degree certification (BA–PhD)
  • Completed application form
  • Personal statement of faith and ministry goals
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Interview with admissions committee

Bachelor’s Programmes

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 credits (WAEC/NECO) including Maths or English (special cases decided by the Board)
  • Completed application form
  • Personal statement of faith and academic goals
  • Official transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • SAT/ACT scores (optional)
  • Interview with the panel

Bachelor’s Direct Entry

  • Completed diploma or 48+ transferable credits
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • All standard bachelor’s admission requirements above
  • Interview with the panel

Master’s Programmes

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA
  • Completed application form
  • Statement of purpose and research interests
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Writing sample (10–15 pages) or BA project or any other published item online
  • Interview with program director

Doctoral Programmes

  • Master’s degree in related field from accredited institution
  • Minimum 3.3 graduate GPA
  • Completed application form
  • Detailed research proposal
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Three letters of recommendation (at least two from academic sources)
  • Writing sample demonstrating research capability (20–30 pages) or MA thesis or published paper/article
  • GRE scores (recommended but not required for those in Africa)
  • Interview with doctoral committee
